  • Watch Out with the Joke

    Date: 2010.02.27 | Category: Jokes | Response: 0

PhotobucketI recall a teacher I had in school, came to school one day wearing a brown shoe on one foot and a black shoe on the other. She had been in a rush that morning and simply grabbed a left shoe and a right shoe. They were the same style just different in color. She only lived a short distance from school but rather than go home and change she explained her fiasco to her students. She was always so perfect we just could not imagine her doing such a thing. I think following that day we looked at her as though she was almost human.

You had better know we all had one big chuckle out of the shoe episode. Have you thought that you do not have to be the one ‘on center-stage’ to share humor? Of course not. Just consider it, if some person is sharing a funny happening with you, what is your job? Laugh, of course you would. Now this ought not have to be a false laugh but a significant chuckle. Laughing with, not at someone is spreading their humor.

Most of us have a friend or have knowledge of someone that is known for his or her humor. They are fun to be with and we should always remember to share our chuckling with them. Now that you realise that humor can be shared without being a public orator, let’s look at how an orator relates, or should relate, to his or her audience. They have a relationship that is obtained by mutual respect, trust and sympathising with the audience. Humor needs to be prepared exceptionally carefully. When it fails to be funny it can cause stress and discomfort.

This should not occur if you are able to follow a few guidelines. The first point to be considered is the difference between healthy and unhealthy humor. As you know, unhealthy humor has a victim. It shows a wicked spirit. There might be a laugh for this humor but it would most probably be one of nervousness. The sufferer is usually made to look different, not be very intelligent or prejudice.

Looking to healthy humor you will see it is just the opposite. It shows support and authorization in emphasizing the ways we are alike. This shows more understanding and sympathy. The laughing here comes from recognizing that we are all in the same boat and no one is isolated or made to appear different. In order to spread humor, the speaker must have a good demeanour. You must be able to enjoy humor.

It is crucial that you have a good relationship with the audience. This is sharing yourself in person so they will discover the speaker. Trust has to be established so the audience will not be nervous of anything you may share. A good insight or knowledge of the audience is a must as every joke or sentence plays on a particular emotion.

A complete understanding about the environment of the audience will put the speaker on conventional ground with them. This requires a lot of homework. If you don’t know details of them, stay off from particular persons and places in your humor. Presentation is essential. The presentation of the punchline is important as well as giving the audience time to enjoy the punchline. The ultimate important issue with timing you must realise when to finish. Enjoyable humor goes a long way and it is way better to let them leave wanting more.

  • Can I delete it?

    Date: 2010.02.16 | Category: Current | Response: 0

PhotobucketSports Day is just around the corner. Everybody including me is busy doing the preparation. Other than in charging the marching group, I also have to do brochure for this event. Actually I’m not worry about doing this because this is not my first time and right now I almost done with it and will be sending it for brochure printing ASAP. What I’m worried the most is the marching group. I don’t have any experience and me myself don’t even know how to march! And yet ‘they’ asked me to teach the students. How could that be possible? Each and every time I asked the students to practice (with untrained coach), the number of them will get lesser and lesser. Right now, I only have less then 18 students and I’m sure not all of them will turn up during the Sports Day. Oh God, I wish I could delete the Sports Day from the calendar!

  • Further your Studies

PhotobucketI’ve heard a lot about online learning and getting your degree or master via online learning is something common nowadays. Today, there are so many of universities offering course online but you might want to consider Lewis University Online. Among courses offered there, I’m so attracted with online Masters of Science in Information Security. This is actually a new course for me because I’ve not heard any similar course before. I also believe that this course is very beneficial to people who work and earn their living with computer networks, databases, and the internet. We have so many IT experts out there but not many of them are able to meet the constant challenge of modern world especially when it comes to security. So this is the best time for any individual or organizations out there to send their IT expert to gain more knowledge so that they can protect your company from any danger.

  • Holidays

PhotobucketThe holiday is here again. Tomorrow my family and I will be going to an island for our family vacation. Although we will be there for three days only but I’ve packed our things and it seems that we are going there forever! If possible I want to bring everything in our house because everything seems to be very important to me. Before packing all the things, I put them aside and I was surprised to see that my husband rejected almost half of the things. He said those things were not important at all and in case if we need it we can always buys at the nearest shop. I don’t have the energy or strength to argue with him. Without any questioning, I packed all those things but I was glad to see my herbal diet supplements among all those things. I smiled because I’m glad that my husband really understands my appetite. I’m a wife who always have problem to control my diet especially when I’m on vacation and only supplement can help me. I packed it as well and in the end I have two big bags with me, not only containing my things but also my husband’s and sons’ stuff. Hope we will have so much fun there.

PhotobucketAt this age I’m still dreaming of becoming popular, becoming a celebrity. I always wanted to wear beautiful clothes, branded of course! wearing Gucci sunglass with LV handbag on my hand. I am also yearning for beautiful flawless skin without any wrinkles or blackheads. Acne would not be a big deal with natural acne remedy. Applying make-up correctly is also my dream and perhaps I could put blusher on my cheeks. I also love to have long straight hair like the girl in a shampoo advertisement. Driving a BMW is the peak of my dream and I really hope that when I woke up, everything will be back to normal. I just love to be me!

  • Begger

    Date: 2010.02.14 | Category: General | Response: 0

PhotobucketHave you ever met with a begger? Previously there were so many beggers in my country but a few years back the government implemented new law and after that begger becoming rare and almost unseen. But yesterday, I met with an old lady asking for money and of course she was a begger. She was really old, older then my mother I guess! She looked so untidy, wearing a torn clothes and a pair of old slippers. Actually I was having dinner with my husband and suddenly she appeared out from no where and greeted us. I looked at her face, there were so many wrinkles and I can see her sorrow and sadness through them. She asked me if I could give her some money and she said she wanted to buy food with it. I felt so pity for her and I almost cry. Where are her children or relatives? How could them left her behind? Without any question, I just handed some money to her. I was about to ask her question but then she was away, with a smile on her face. Deep in my heart, I wish I could heal the sorrow and sadness that she had went through. I also hope that I could give her the best wrinkle cream and buy for her new clothes. She reminded me of my mother. I grabbed the cell phone and called my mother, just want to make sure that she’s fine.

  • Best Exercise

    Date: 2010.02.14 | Category: General | Response: 0

PhotobucketCycling is the best fat burning exercise. It is becoming very popular not only in my country but many parts of the world. But before you start, you must make sure that you have the right equipment and you have to be very cautious. In term of equipment, of course you should have a bike, make sure that you wear a helmet, your bike should have lights at the front and back side, tool kit and you also might want to carry a portable pump with you in case the tyre got flat. Apart from that, you also have to cycle very carefully and you should know your own abilities. Make sure that you are in the right gear and you are riding in the right direction. Lastly, don’t go too fast and always beware of vehicles around you.

  • Stationary Shop

I went to the book shop to buy materials for my class and also for my personal use. I’m quite shocked because things get really expensive. Sometimes I just don’t understand why prizes of things keep increasing whereas the consumers still get the same product with the same quality. Maybe some people might say “band the product” but if we really need the thing, how can we bend them? Weather we like it or not, we still have to buy them. I went to the counter to pay all those things and the cashier look at me with a smile.  She has a sweet smile but then I was really shocked when he (not ‘she’ actually) uttered a word to me. Only then I realized that the cashier is a male and not female as what I thought earlier. I was talking to myself that this man really needs testosterone boosters to reveal his masculinity. I was busy thinking about him and I almost forget to give him the money until he asked for it. Without further delay, I gave him the money and went out. Hope he don’t realize that I was examining him. Shame on me!

  • The Biggest Regret

    Date: 2010.02.12 | Category: General | Response: 0

PhotobucketI was thinking about my life and suddenly I asked myself this question. What is my biggest regret? My regret would be not accepting the offer of studying overseas a few years back. I was given the offer to further my studies in Australia but I have to reject it because of money problem. I don’t want to burden my family with it and that’s why I’ve decided to study at local university instead. But deep down in my heart, I really wanted to go there but I have to console myself and I was telling myself that I have to sacrifice my life time dream because I love my parents very much. They have done so many good things to me and I don’t want them to do more, what they’ve done is more than enough. So I just went to a local university to further my studies. But then I regret it so much. If I were there in Australia, of course I could be a fluent English speaker. Studying here among the non native English speaker was tougher then what I thought. Even after 7 years leaving university, I still can’t be a fluent English speaker. That’s why I regret it so much and I wish I had taken that offer before!

Song of the Week

You're my honey bunch
Sugarplum
Pumpy-umpy-umpkin
You're my sweetie pie
You're my cuppy cake
Gumdrop
Snoogums-boogums
You're the apple of my eye

And I love you so and I want you to know
That I'll always be right here
And I love to sing sweet songs to you
Because you are so dear
