  • Owning a Home

    Date: 2010.01.31 | Category: General | Response: 0

PhotobucketOwning a home is actually such a big investment. At this young age, I already have my own house which means I’m not throwing my money on renting a house. Yes, it sounds great but due to that, I’ve tied up all my money in a home. House owning is not a small investment, I have to pay a large amount of money monthly and due to that, I can’t really enjoy my life. Everything is so limited to me and I only buy all the necessary things. Sometimes it’s hard for me but I have to take this positively. I always tell myself that this is a long term benefit, land prices will always getting expensive. Owning a house means that I already have a place when I grow old.

  • Appearance

PhotobucketIf people ask me ‘do you worry about your appearance?’ The answer will be absolutely YES! Being a teacher required me to be presentable all the time. Everyday hundreds of students will be watching me from head to toe. Students nowadays are very observant, don’t get shock when students ask you about your new brooch. Yes, they will notice every single thing that your are wearing and sometimes they give their sincere comments. However, I’m not the type who will stand in front the mirror for a very long time before I go to work. Usually I’ve planned earlier on what I should wear for that particular day.  So I just grab it and put some foundation and lipstick on my face, then I’m ready to go. I’m not the type of person who wears mascara, blusher or eyes shadow, those things consuming too much time to me. Recently I reinvent myself, I wear attractive clothes and stylish head scarf. I promised to myself that I will throw out all the clothes after one year wearing them and I also have a new hobby, which is collecting head scarf. I’ve spent quite a lot buying new clothes and also head scarf. Appearance is so important to me and I am also particular about my time. So, I will make sure that appearance does not cost lots of time to me.

  • Shoulder-surfing

    Date: 2010.01.27 | Category: New Words | Response: 0

PhotobucketIn surfing there’s a technical term for stealing somebody else’s wave. It’s called shoulder-surfing. It’s very rude and surfers really don’t like it. Well, if you’re taking money out of a cash point or ATM in American English, you should be really careful that no-one is standing too close behind you. They may be shoulder-surfing, that’s looking over your shoulder trying to watch you enter your personal identification or PIN number on the keypad. That’s one way of stealing someone’s money – then a pickpocket or mugger will steal your purse or wallet, and rush to the bank before you can cancel your cards.
Shoulder-surfing brings up some interesting cultural points. How close is too close? In Britain and the US, people like at least a metre or two of space between them and the next person – any less than that and they feel uncomfortable. But I’ve been to other countries where people stand right next to each other when they are queuing at the bank, and have no problems at all. Maybe shoulder-surfing doesn’t happen so much there. Or maybe it’s just easier!
Shoulder-surfing might also have another meaning. You know when you are at a party, talking to someone, and they don’t seem to be very interested in your conversation? They seem to be constantly looking over your shoulder, trying to find someone more interesting or attractive to talk to. They want to upgrade to someone better. Well – some people call this shoulder-surfing too! Or maybe this only happens to me …

  • Quit?!

    Date: 2010.01.26 | Category: Current | Response: 0

PhotobucketI’m very surprised with my husband! He always gives shocking news to me. Yesterday he told me that he wants to quit his job and do insurance advertising. I just couldn’t believe my ears. I don’t know what makes him change his mind all of sudden, perhaps maybe because I talked too much about insurance to him lately! Is this my fault?! I asked him why and he said he can see the broad and bright potential in this field and he believes he could gain profit by getting himself totally involved with this. Well to be honest, my eyes just couldn’t see the way but I don’t want to object his decision at the same time. So I advised him to involve with insurance as a part time job like most people do. He doesn’t have to let go his current job for something uncertain. I’m so happy because he accepts my opinion and he also thanked me for my honest opinion. I just want the best for him, hope success is his.

  • The Power of Online

Photobucket I’ve found it! At last our hard works are paid! I’m still talking about insurance J. I surfed on the net on insurance online and finally I’ve found premium that is suitable with our monthly budget. The coverage also is not too bad and the company offered quality coverage and has good claims record (based on our ‘investigation’). My husband also agreed with this one and we’ll do the process ASAP. Hope this would be the best choice for us!

PhotobucketThe insurance agent SMSed me this morning. She gave me the life insurance quote that I’ve asked before. Actually I’m quite stunned with the amount and I couldn’t believe it is that expensive. I discussed with my husband and he also said that it is too costly and he didn’t think that we could afford it during this tight budget. However, we still think that insurance is important and we’ve agreed to find something else that is more reasonable to us.

PhotobucketFuh…..I’m really full right now! I ate a lot this few days. In the morning I had one bowl of cereal, and then I rushed to the meeting room. After meeting, the organizer served us fried noodles and apple pie. I ate them because it looked so yummy! At 12.30 my friend called me and she said she owes me pizzas and she asked me to come over to her place. I have no choice but to go and socialize with people around me. At night I ate two plates of rice just because I love the dishes very much. Tomorrow for sure I have to run on the treadmill for extra time to cover up everything that I’ve eat today.

  • Life Story

PhotobucketThis young boy looks so decent. He always sits down quietly at the back of the class, no one talks to him and whenever I ask him he will bow his head and reply politely. I never knew his background until his form teacher told me that this boy comes from broken family, he never goes to school before and this is his first time in school. I was so shocked, couldn’t believe what I’ve just heard. I thought education is for everyone but how can this boy be left behind? I went to him and asked, he said his parents got divorced since he was 5 years old and then he had to stay with relatives, grandfather and lastly with his own mother. He cannot get proper education because people keep passing him from one person to another. That was so sad, I feel pity for him. He was crying when he told me his life story. He said he will study hard and he wants to get a jobs in finance someday. I supported him and I also remind him that only education can change his life, without it you’re nothing!

PhotobucketI just watched Biggest Looser Asia on TV, the programme that really motivates me to loose weight in a healthy ways. Some of the contestants were really enthusiastic and they gave their best to win the show. Apart from that, I also like to see all those sophisticated fitness equipment and I wish I could get on of them really soon. Actually to loose weight is not something easy, you have to be really passionate, have strong spirit and have high determination to do so. If you are willing to sacrifice your appetite and eat healthily things will get easy for you.

  • Class Materials

    Date: 2010.01.19 | Category: Current | Response: 0

PhotobucketLast Sunday I went to Rainbow. It is actually a well-known stationary shop at my place. Actually I wanted to buy materials for my class so that the students can do some decoration on the soft-board. I bought so many things such as construction paper, sugar paper, A4 coloured paper, plastic wrapper, marker pen and also gun stapler. I went there for about an hour! There were lots of things to be seen and I even noticed that there was an additional floor at the shop. After satisfied with my choice, I went to the counter and the queue was so long. I was surprised to see there was no receipt printer! And the cashier just calculated the entire price manually, she wrote down the price in a note book and manually calculate them. Such a big shop but sadly they couldn’t manage the shop well. The next day, I gave all the things to girls who are suppose to take charge of the soft-board. They were so happy to see all those things and I also hope that the outcome will make me so happy. Just wait and see!

Song of the Week

You're my honey bunch
Sugarplum
Pumpy-umpy-umpkin
You're my sweetie pie
You're my cuppy cake
Gumdrop
Snoogums-boogums
You're the apple of my eye

And I love you so and I want you to know
That I'll always be right here
And I love to sing sweet songs to you
Because you are so dear
